Dr. Eric Owusu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems in the Department of Computer Science at the State University of New York, Brockport. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Towson University in Maryland. He also earned a Master of Science in Information Technology and Cyber Security from Hood College in Maryland, a Master of Arts in Integrated Design from the University of Baltimore in Maryland, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.

Dr. Owusu’s scholarship focuses on Human Computer Interaction, User Interface and User Experience design, and mobile health technologies. His research examines how mobile health systems can empower individuals by improving access to critical health information and supporting effective health management. His work in information systems explores usability, cross cultural interface design, and the application of human centered design methodologies to create accessible and effective digital solutions.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Owusu is an ITIL and AWS certified professional with strong expertise in ERP systems. He also serves as a technology consultant for the international non governmental organization YouthsMAP, a role he has held since 2012, where he supports technology driven initiatives that advance youth development and community engagement.
